Island Solutions (Bermuda) Ltd. (“Island Solutions”) is a Bermuda company dedicated to bringing innovative and useful products to Bermuda which are attractively priced and backed by a good warranty. To bring you the best value in price, our products are sold directly to you from our virtual store and delivered to you without charge.

Island Solutions has spent the last 12 months identifying and testing products that help you to effectively monitor your electricity use with a view to reducing consumption and saving money. We are pleased to offer for sale the PowerCost Monitor manufactured by BlueLine Innovations. The monitor receives signals and data from the included sensor (the “pilot fish”) which is attached to the electrical meter from which BELCO reads your monthly electricity consumption. The electrical meter is owned by BELCO and they have authorised Island Solutions’ trained personnel to install the “pilot fish” device to their meter. The “pilot fish” sends data remotely from the meter to the hand held PowerCost Monitor which allows you to safely and conveniently monitor your power consumption.

The price of the PowerCost Monitor including installation is $395. Our 12 month warranty and terms of sale are set out below. If you would like to buy this product, choose one of the following purchasing methods that works best for you:

12 Month Warranty and terms of Sale for the PowerCost Monitor

Island Solutions (Bermuda) Ltd. (“Island Solutions”) is pleased that you have chosen to purchase the PowerCost Monitor manufactured by BlueLine Innovations. The monitor receives signals and data from the included sensor (the “pilot fish”) which is attached to the electrical meter from which BELCO reads your monthly electricity consumption. The electrical meter is owned by BELCO and they have authorised Island Solutions’ trained personnel to install the “pilot fish” device to their meter. The “pilot fish” sends data remotely from the meter to the PowerCost Monitor which allows you to safely and conveniently monitor your power consumption.

Your purchase is governed by the following terms and conditions:

1. The PowerCost Monitor and the “pilot fish” device have been extensively tested in North America and Bermuda to ensure that it is compatible with BELCO’s meters and will provide a reliable means by which you can monitor your power consumption. If BELCO determines that the “pilot fish” device or the PowerCost Monitor causes any interference to their meters, services or their own future deployment of similar technology, you hereby authorise Island Solutions to remove the “pilot fish” at no cost to BELCO and you will, if requested, return the PowerCost Monitor to Island Solutions.
2. You acknowledge that BELCO is not a party to this sale and has no legal obligation, duty or liability to you in respect of the sale, installation, operation or subsequent removal of the PowerCost Monitor and “the pilot fish”.
3. Island Solutions warrants the reliable use of its product for 12 months from date of purchase. In the event of a defect within the warranty period, Island Solutions will replace the device, whether it be the PowerCost Monitor or the “pilot fish” at no cost to you and in the event of a removal notice by BELCO within the warranty period, Island Solutions will refund the purchase price to you. This warranty does not cover damage to the PowerCost Monitor or the “pilot fish” which is caused by physical force, submersion in liquids, lightening strikes and similar external events over which Island Solutions has no control over.
4. In accordance with Island Solutions’ safety policies, you agree that the “pilot fish” will only be physically inspected, serviced or removed by Island Solutions’ authorised technicians. If service or removal occurs outside the warranty period, you agree to pay Island Solutions’ usual charges for any parts and labour. If you wish during the warranty period to transfer the “pilot fish” to another meter or wish to remove a properly functioning “pilot fish”, then labour and any parts will be charged for the requested service.
5. Any physical inspection, servicing or removal of the “pilot fish” which is carried out by the owner or by any person not authorised by Island Solutions voids the warranty, and the owner agrees to indemnify Island Solutions against any resulting claims that may be brought against the company.
6. Any servicing of the PowerCost Monitor (save for replacing batteries and programming the device in accordance with the included instructions) which is carried out by the owner or by any person not authorised by Island Solutions voids the warranty, and the owner agrees to indemnify Island Solutions against any resulting claims that may be brought against the company.
